Abot Sow Food

SŌW specializes in providing members of their CSA the added service of prepared meals. This is your chance to support your local farm as well as eating healthy and naturally with a variety of meals each week. Just like having a personal chef create weekly unique meals just for you. We will take care of the additional ingredients needed to make a complete dish including the protein. Each week you will pick up prepared meals that delight and surprise your palate. Some meals will be classic standbys that you recognize and other meals will be a new experience for you to savor. The best part is the convenience of having your meals prepared and knowing you are still supporting your local grower as well as a local small business dedicated to sustainability and environmental renewal. SŌW is a green company through and through.

CSA SUBSCRIPTION

Community Supported Agriculture

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs are increasing in popularity in Cleveland. CSAs work by providing a seasonal subscription to a local farm and then receiving a weekly basket of vegetables from that farm. If you want to buy locally and eat seasonally, but don’t have the time or energy to cook those interesting ingredients, then our Prepared CSA is the PERFECT solution for you! We source ingredients from various farms, then create meals for you. It is a subscription to a weekly surprise dinner service!! Instead of picking up a basket of raw veggies every week, you receive wholesome prepared meals that are easily completed in your home. We do all the work . . . you buy and eat fresh local meals.

This service is as affordable as dining out. In fact, in most cases, it is more economical. What you get is 3 meals for 2 adults each week which offers value, convenience and quality, all while sowing the seeds of local foods. **minimum of one month subscription
(Note: We can deduct for weeks’ gone by if you sign up late for a season subscription.)

Container of Prepared Sow Food

The Sōw Food CSA subscription is a 16 week plan operating much like a traditional CSA. However, instead of taking home a bag of veggies, you will be taking home a bag of prepared meals. Each week, you will get 2 adult servings of 3 different meals (for a total of 6 meals) per subscription. The meals will be made by Chef Brian and his staff primarily from goods either produced at our own urban farm or otherwise locally procured by Sow. So, how much does this all cost? Less than you might think. At $16 per meal, the subscription is $95 per week paid in full or $100 per week paid in monthly installments.

We do know that this is more than many traditional CSA’s. We also know that the added bonus of locally raised meats and dairy, and of course, having the meals prepared for you, adds a value far beyond what the traditional CSA’s are able to provide. To learn about pricing Click on this link: Prepared CSA Pricing Schedule and Agreement (PDF)
(Note: We can deduct for weeks’ gone by if you sign up for a season subscription late.)ADDITIONAL PICK UP LOCATIONS, DATES AND TIMES ARE IN DEVELOPMENT as our customer base tells us where we need to be.

THE FARM

Your support of SŌW FOOD will help enable us to do this and other programs with more schools in the future. Enjoy the food from SŌW knowing that we are planting seeds for the future of our kids.

CATERING

Chef Brian has been offering Personal Chef services, Private dinner parties and catered events for the last 8 years. He’s always had a passion for local foods and understands the importance of quality ingredients. Chef Brian has evolved into Sōw Food. Great service and great local food has been the hallmark of what we do for years. We feature the freshest in season, local and sustainable foods we can find. Our relationships with local farmers ensures us top quality ingredients cared for by those farmers we know. We now offer everything from boxed-lunches to elegant weddings.

Our dedication to doing the right thing and doing things right carries all through our operation. We value our employees, partners and community. We pay a fair wage for our talented hard working team. We minimize our environmental impact in as many ways as we are capable of. We compost all of our food waste. We recycle all paper, glass, metals and plastics (when we use them). All of our disposable products are either recyclable or compostable. We shop local farmer’s markets with reusable bags. We even save the plastic vegetable bags to be reused on our next shopping trip. Our dedication to practicing sustainability is reminiscent of a more practical time when our parents and grand parents reused things like tin foil just because it made sense. We just feel it makes sense. Sample menus are in development. Keep in mind that we try to deal in products that are in season. We don’t find it sustainable or good quality to use many products outside of their peak from local producers.
