Our Prepared CSA featured in Cleveland magazine blog

Visit Laura Taxel’s food blog to read about our prepared CSA. We are proud to be the first of it’s kind. One correction is that our farm is on 47th and Loraine, not 74th.

Kids in the kitchen
March 7, 2012
On Wednesday March 7, 2012 and March 21 we will be conducting our first cooking workshop for kids at the Urban Community school across the street from our farm- White Squirrel farm. March 7th will be grades K-4 and March 21 will be grades 5-8. This is the pilot version of our “after school cooking club” program we are developing to be used at any school. We envision this becoming a great learning opportunity for the kids to get exposure to fresh foods and simple techniques to gain life skills centered around good nutrition and making fresh healthy choices. The first menu will be a nice Pasta salad that will feature variations on ingredients such as whole grain pastas, quinoa and orzo. Plus offer variations on veggies based on what you like and what’s in season IE: broccoli, peas or peppers.
